Educator Licensure has the following responsibilities:
Analyzes credentials, makes determinations of eligibility and issues educator licenses to individuals seeking access to practice in the thirty-seven (37) Public Local Education Agencies (LEA’s) that provide educational service to pre-K through 12 students that reside in the District of Columbia. Licensure services are also available to program enrollees and completers from DC in-state teacher preparation programs/Schools of Education as well as other interested applicants.
