Office of Public Charter School Financing and Support
Start-Up and Implementation

The Office of Public Charter School Financing and Support provides start-up and implementation grants through the federal Public Charter Schools Program (PCSP), which is part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.  The program promises informed parental choice and innovative programs through public charter schools.  It also serves to increase national understanding of the public charter schools model and to expand the number of high quality public charter schools available to students across the nation.  The PCSP accomplishes this through providing financial assistance for planning, program design, and initial implementation of new public charter schools.
